Strengthened My Faith & Sense of Connection

The skills that you and I worked on over 2020 made much of this possible. Having a solid mediation practice and scheduling quiet listening time has made 2020 a year of inquiry, resilience, and growth for me. I usually get out for a 2 to 4-hour long hike every weekend in addition to my daily mindfulness practice. Connecting with nature has strengthened my faith and sense of connection.

I gained strength in knowing my value!

I met Rita Ricks in early March 2020 with the expectation of discovering who I was, what I wanted in my work life, personal life, and my spiritual life. The first two coaching sessions were hard for me to say the least. It was difficult to talk about myself without talking about what I did for the people in my life. As part of my coaching with Rita, she created a plan for me to get spiritually connected to my supreme being and with that, journaling, reading 10 minutes a day, and exercising daily was part of the plan. The exercising was easy but, everything else took a lot of practice and discipline. There were times I let life get in the way of my routine and I felt a little defeated and overwhelmed. During those times Rita was always a phone call or a text away. The most amazing part of my coaching was being totally vulnerable and safe at the same time. During my coaching I gained strength in knowing my value as a black woman who cares for family and supports a mission driven organization. At the end of my coaching I was left with tools and a support system to continue cultivating me as I travel in new and amazing directions in my life.
